Real Estate 101

This course covers all of the necessary activities to deliver the service Keller Williams is famous for. Special emphasis is placed on developing a marketing position and satisfying the needs of the customer.

Real Estate 101 is a nine - day overview of the real estate industry and the buying/selling process and is designed with the new associate in mind. After completing real estate 101, the associate should have a basic understanding of the entire transaction process and feel comfortable in completing his/her first transaction. The associate should also walk away with their first year goals and feel confident in their decision to make real estate a full – time career!

(Real Estate 101 is mandatory for all newly licensed associates and is also highly recommended for associates who feel they need a refresher in the basics!)

Real Estate 101 is made up of the following courses:

  • Orientation
  • Mortgage 101
  • Agency Relationship 101
  • Listing 101
  • Selling 101
  • Negotiating 101
  • CMA 101
  • Inspections 101
  • Addenda 101
ORIENTATION: The purpose of orientation is to familiarize the new associate with the Keller Williams Realty – Team office and office procedures. The new associate will also be consulted on first – year goals and expectations and be supplied with the tools of a successful real estate consultant.
MORTGAGE 101:

Mortgage 101 is designed to educate the newly licensed associate on the basics of finance. The following topics will be thoroughly discussed:

  1. Mortgage application process,
  2. Pre-qualification vs. Pre-approval,
  3. Requirements Conventional Loans,
  4. Interest rates & Mortgage fees.
AGENCY RELATIONSHIP 101: Agency Relationship 101 to designed to educate (1) Residential Contract, (2) All related title costs and fees, (3)Agency Relationship, (4) Addenda’s.
SELLING 101: Selling 101 covers the Conventional Residential Contract. After attending Selling 101, each associate should feel comfortable and confident with the wording and completion of the contract. A "Contract-to-Close" checklist provided.
NEGOTIATING 101: Negotiating 101 addresses the Residential Contract. After attending Negotiating 101, each associate should feel comfortable and confident with presenting and explaining different items that may appear in the contract.
CMA 101: CMA 101 teaches each associate how to provide relevant, quality comparables to both buyers and sellers. After attending CMA 101, each associate should feel comfortable and confident with preparing and explaining a price analysis.
INSPECTIONS 101: Inspections 101 is designed to educate the newly licensed associate on structural/mechanical inspections, pest inspections, and home warranties. After attending Inspections 101, each associate should understand the following: (1) How and when to order inspections, (2) How to read the inspection report.
ADDENDA 101: Addenda 101 introduces the new associate to all addendum used with the standard Listing Agreement and the Residential Contract. After attending Addenda 101, each associate should feel comfortable and confident with completing and explaining all relevant addenda.
